Junior “B” Knights announce Head Coach for 2008 season
The Nepean Knights Junior “B” lacrosse club is pleased to announce that Chad Fairfoull has joined the club as the Head Coach for the Knights’ 2008 season.
The Knights executive is excited about the impressive lacrosse experience and enthusiasm that Chad brings to the organization. An outstanding teaching coach, Chad Fairfoull will combine knowledge and experience from a variety of levels to implement an exciting brand of fast-break lacrosse to Nepean. Chad’s lacrosse coaching history is extensive and varied. His most recent coaching experience includes:
- In 2007, as Head Coach of the Longueuil Junior “B” Patriotes, Chad guided the team to the Quebec championship and a place in the 2007 Canadian Founders Cup tournament
- Also during the 2007 season, Chad was a player and assistant coach with the Quebec Senior “B” Longueuil Patriotes
- In 2006 and 2005, Chad was a member of the coaching staff of the Ottawa Titans Junior “A” lacrosse club, serving as Pete Vipond’s premier assistant coach
- In 2004, Chad was an assistant coach with the Junior ‘B’ Nepean Knights
- From 2000 to 2004, helped Chad coached the Carleton University field lacrosse team and served as the team’s Head Coach in 2003 and 2004
Numerous awards
Chad has received significant recognition for his successes as a coach. Over a four year period, he has been recognized as being part of a “coaching staff of the year” in three different lacrosse leagues in Canada
- In 2007, Chad won Coach of the Year for the Quebec Junior Lacrosse League. His team experienced more success in the Founder’s Cup than any Quebec based team has ever had
- In 2005 Chad was part of the Ottawa Titans Junior “A” coaching staff, which included Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame coach Pete Vipond. The Titans had a tremendous inaugural season and the coaching staff won the OLA Junior “A” Coaching Staff of the Year award
- As the Head Coach of the Carleton University field lacrosse team, Chad won the CUFLA Coach of the Year Award in 2004
Excitement for 2008
From our perspective, we are most excited for the players of the Knights, as they will develop in a nurturing and teaching environment. We are excited for our fans as they will witness exhilarating fast-break lacrosse. We are excited as an executive about the lacrosse knowledge, experience and enthusiasm that Chad will bring in directing the players in 2008.
Upon accepting the position of Head Coach, Chad commented, “I look forward to bringing an exciting brand of lacrosse to Nepean. I know the potential is good as the roster includes a mix of young talent and some key veteran players. There is anticipation for us to have a very successful season and I think we will make plenty of noise in the Eastern Conference”.
Certainly, lacrosse fans should look forward to an improved and interesting season of lacrosse in the Nation’s Capital in 2008.
