Ottawa Rebel News
Ex-Knight Jason Tasse is back with the NLL Ottawa Rebel this season. After being taken by the Montreal Express in the summer expansion draft, Jason was traded back to the Rebel in August.
Off the floor, Knight's head coach Eugene Zywicki is helping the Rebel as a Staff Assistant.
The Rebel's home opener is Sunday November 18th at 3:30 PM when they host the Vancouver Ravens at the Corel Centre.
OLA Jr. A News
Ex-Knight Jeff Zywicki was awarded the Jack Bionda Memorial Award as the Junior 'A' All-Star Game MVP for 2001.

2001 AGM News
At the Knights Annual General Meeting on Wed. Sept. 26th three new executives were elected to replace Nancy Burgess (General Manager), Mary Lou Zywicki (Treasurer) and Nancy Henry (Secretary) who announced their retirement prior to the meeting.
Mike Cox is the new General Manager; Jeff Sarazin Treasurer; and Heather Hourston Secretary.
Andy Mutch and Jerry Thrasher are staying on as President and Vice President respectively.
In non-executive positions Ted Montour returns as Media Relations person and the Coaching Staff will all be returning with the exception of Pat Houlahan who is retiring after holding the Trainer / Equipment Manager position since the Knights re-joined the league in 1993.
Congratulations to the new executive members Mike, Jeff and Heather, and a big 'Thank You' to Nancy B, Mary Lou, Nancy H, and Pat for their contributions over the years.

Knights Rookie Wins Award
The Nepean Knight's Mickey Gilchrist was named 2001 Rookie of the Year for the East Division. His 50 goals and 51 assists were tops for all rookies. This is the 3rd time in the past five seasons that a Knights player has won the award. Previous Nepean winners were Jeff Zywicki in 1998 and Scott Henry in 1997.

Knights Win Ferguson Cup
The Knights motored down the Queensway Friday night to defeat the cross-town rival Griffins 12-4 and returned home with 2 points and the Ferguson Cup.

All-Star Update
Captain Stu McFarlane, and Mickey Gilchrist represented the Knights at the Jr B All-Star Game in Wallaceburg this past weekend. Mickey scored a hat-trick while Stu counted a goal and an assist.

Bryden Denyes taken in OLA Major Lacrosse draft
Recent Knight graduate Bryden Denyes was drafted in the 3rd round by the Akwesasne Thunder who finished last in the 6 team league. The Thunder were led offensively by perennial all-star John Tavares who had 45 goals and 66 assists for 111 points in only 16 games.
Congratulations to Mickey Gilchrist and Andre (Biff) Leduc.
Mickey served double duty last year playing for the Jr. B Knights and playing for the Midget 'B' Knights. In the OLA Jr. A Midget draft, Mickey was taken 3rd overall by the Toronto Beaches!!
Biff led the Jr. B Knights in scoring in 1996, and in 2000 coached the Midget 'B' Nepean Knights to the Ontario Provincial 'B' Championships. In addition he has been awarded 'Zone 5 Coach of the Year'.

Ex-Knight Jason Tasse makes final Ottawa Rebel roster
Jason played for the Knights when Nepean re-joined the Jr. B league in 1993, and played until he turned overage after the 1995 season. He has recently been playing in the ILA league centered around Montreal.

Ex-Knight drafted by NLL Ottawa Rebel in 9th round.
Bryden Denyes was taken in the 9th round by the new Ottawa NLL franchise, the Rebel, making him the first Nepean player ever drafted to the NLL. Bryden was captain of the Knights and led the team in scoring in 2000 with 47 goals and 39 assist in 20 games. Bryden played in every regular season and playoff game during his 5 years with the Knights, amassing 215 goals and 161 assists in 134 games. This is a record that is likely to stand for many years to come.
