Knights Announce Coaching Change for 2004
Head Coach Eugene Zywicki has decided to step down from coaching after
four years at the helm of the Knights. He will continue to work with
the Club in other capacities, including maintaining the Web site. During
his tenure, Eugene guided the team to a regular season record of 49-30-3
and three Conference finals. He worked hard to develop players and team
systems. The team will certainly miss Eugene.
We have asked Dan Leduc to step up from assistant coach. Dan is familiar
with our league and our players and has a well-thought-out plan for ensuring
the team's continuing development and success. He has played for and
coaches the Black Sheep Men's Field Lacrosse Team.
Dan's assistant coaches will be André "Biff" Leduc and
Chad Fairfoull. Rad Joseph will continue as goalie coach.
Biff is a former Knights player and has coached for several years in
the minor system. He coached the gold medal-winning 2000 and 2001 Nepean
Knights midgets. Many of the current Junior Knights played for Biff on
those teams. Biff also plays for the Black Sheep Men's Field Lacrosse
Team and is coaching the Nemesis Field Lacrosse Team (under 19).
Chad coaches the Carleton University field lacrosse team, on which several
Knights play, and was a player-coach of the Ottawa Xtreme (Iroquois Lacrosse
League senior men's box lacrosse). He played field lacrosse with Queens
University and was also equipment manager of the Ottawa Rebel (defunct
National Lacrosse League box lacrosse team).
As a former goalie, Rad Joseph has plenty of expertise to help our goalies.
His advice and drills have been invaluable in developing our goalies.
