NEPEAN KNIGHTS JUNIOR "B" LACROSSE

Knights 2008 Playoff Drive Ends

The Knights put in another great effort tonight and played a great 60 minutes of lacrosse but were unable to beat the Mountaineers. The Knights had a slow first part of the game and finished the second period 9-5. A strong defensive showing and some scoring were in store for the Knights in the 3rd as they fought back, but not quite enough. The score ended in another one goal game with Mimico outscoring Nepean 11-10.

Congratulation to the players for a tremendous effort in this series and in the 2008 season.

Thanks to our fans, sponsors and supports for another great year. We hope to see many of you again next year!!

Knights Win One in Mimico

The Knights put a great effort in tonight and were able to beat the Mimico Mountaineers 9-8 in an exciting close fought match. The Knights had a great game from Andrew Marquis tonight, who managed to rally the team and lead them to their first playoff victory of 2008.

The series continues in Mimico on Saturday, July 5.

Knights Lose Another Close one to Mimico

The Nepean Knights let another close game slip through their fingers today as they dropped a close game to Mimico 10-9. The Knights came out fired up in the first period and scored quick and often, building up a 5-2 lead. The teams exchanged two goals in a toughly fought second period. As the third period developed, the Mountaineers moved closer to the nights and managed to score the go-ahead goal in the final minutes of the game.

It was a tough game to lose and the players gave a solid effort in the heat and humidity that is Ottawa in the summer. The series shifts to Mimico on Friday, July 4.

Knights Drop a Close one to Mimico

The Nepean Knights started the 2008 playoffs with a loss, but a close one. The Knights started the game off very well, going goal for goal with Mimico in the first period. The Knights seemed to find their scoring touch in the second period and broke the 2-2 tie to move ahead 8-4. The teams exchange of goals to start the third, but Mountaineers came out hungrier and went on a run of five unanswered goals to take the lead.

It was a tough game but one where the Knights showed that they are to be taken serious in the 2008 campaign. Game two of the series is Sunday, June 29 at 2 pm.

All games take place at Merivale.

Remember, all Nepean Minor Lacrosse Association players get in free!

We hope to see you there!

Knights Drop a Must Win Game

The Knights travelled to Newmarket today and took on the Saints. Nepean came out slow and couldn't recover for the entire first period. Having a hard time catching the ball and a severe lack of defence in their own end all contributed to the Knights being unable to finish or even test the Saints goalie. The effort provided the Knights goaltender with little support. A goaltender change late in the period didn't provide a spark to Nepean as the score was 5-0 after 1st period.
